Queen Elizabeth l died on March 24th. She was dearly beloved and many people can hardly believe they no longer have their virgin queen. She was the one in charge during the Golden Ages of England. Her health had been in decline as well as her control of England. Elizabeth retired to Richmond Palace where she refused to be examined by her doctors. Though they do not know for sure, it is believed that she died from blood poisoning. Her successor is King James VI of Scotland, eldest son of Elizabeth's half sister, Mary I, Queen of Scots. James becomes James I, King of England, Ireland and Scotland. The funeral was held on April 28th with over one thousand mourners attending. She was laid to rest next to her half sister Mary l. She will always be remembered as the greatest queen England ever had.
